Monkey Nut is by far the best air cooled shop in the Carolinas. The customer service and quality of work goes above and beyond every time. I completely trust them with my 1971 VW bug. Just an amazing crew of people.

These guys were very helpful when I was having trouble locating a door for my '62 Bug. They found one and sold it for a fair price. I recommend Monkey Nut to anyone needing help with their vintage car.

Nice guys. Very knowledgeable about air-cooled VWs and Porsches. They are the preferred shop for most people in Charlotte who have nicer VW cars - doing a combination of restoration and mechanical work. If you’re looking for a VW Microbus expert - they are definitely the guys. They are well known nationally and highly involved in the bus community. If you go over there - theres usually a few Beetles (old and new), some really nice busses, maybe a few VW Things, etc They are reasonably priced in-between the local mechanics that don’t know much about Volkswagens and the really nice restoration shops that take forever and charge a fortune. Very trustworthy shop! They are enthusiasts who love old VW's. They did a complete mechanical restoration of my 1958 Beetle. They exceeded my expectations in every way. They will continue to service & modify my '58 in the future. Thanks Jake & crew!
